Since the spring of 2025, Wellness Loudoun has proudly hosted a weekly Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) peer support group, providing a safe, welcoming space where individuals living with depression and bipolar disorder can connect with others who understand their experiences.

DBSA aims to address the gap in access to mental health care by providing peer-led support groups, holding more than 20,000 support group meetings annually.

Research consistently shows the positive impact of peer support. In general, people who attended a support group for one year were less likely to experience depression and more likely to report a greater sense of hope and connection. In a study of DBSA support groups conducted by Pepperdine University, participants reported increased understanding and acceptance of their mental health condition, greater confidence in their treatment, more optimism and control over their future, and higher self-esteem.

At Wellness Loudoun, we've seen these benefits firsthand. Week after week, our support group offers a place where people can find encouragement, reduce feelings of isolation, and be reminded that they don't have to navigate their mental health journey alone.

Join us Monday nights from 6-7pm
