About the event
This four-class series guides participants to make the critical connection between diet and the risk of developing various forms of cancer. With a focus on low-fat plant-based nutrition, participants develop an understanding of specific foods and nutrients that either promote or discourage cancer development. Each class features a cooking demonstration of delicious, health-promoting dishes, along with handouts of delicious recipes participants can prepare at home.
Intended audience: individuals looking to prevent cancer, and survivors, their family and friends. Classes are not meant for individuals currently undergoing cancer treatment.
During Class 1, we will cover the following:
Diet plays a major role in cancer prevention and survival. The National Cancer Institute estimates that over 90% of cancer cases stem from preventable environmental and lifestyle factors. In this class, learn which food choices can help lower your risk of developing cancer and reduce the chance of recurrence.
